I was looking through my old recipe book where I jotted down ideas and recipes I had made up, when the kids were young and I came across this one it had little instructions just what was in it.
When I started making them I started to remember what went where etc and it all came flooding back,
I handed them out to everyone later and they all loved them more than they ever have.
A clear winner, after many enquires for the recipe here you go.
I do hope you love them as much as we do.
80g rolled everyday oats
1/2tsp Bicarbonate of soda
150g self raising flour
1 tbsp golden syrup
70g demerara sugar
100g milk chocolate
100g dark chocolate
Pre heat the oven to 160’c
Use a 20x20cm tin I use my brownie tin, Line with Greaseproof paper.
Put the oats, flour into a bowl.
In a saucepan, add the butter, syrup and sugar and melt altogether, once all has melted add the bicarbonate of soda and mix this will all froth up don’t panic as its normal.
Then add to the dry mixture and give it a good stir till all combined.
Add to the tin and spread to all corners and make sure its all even.
Bake in the oven for 20 mins or until golden which mine needed five mins more.
Melt both the chocolates together and once the biscuit base is completely cold pour the chocolate on, spread it evenly. (if you just want to use just milk chocolate that is your choice do what you want)
Allow to go cold before cutting you should get 10 good size bars.
Hope you enjoy this recipe, remember to give it a like below thank you.
